Workshop Postponed - NIH Bethesda, MD – May 18, 2020 - SCAW IACUC Training Workshop


Due to the global pandemic of the COVID-19, most states issuing "stay at home orders" we are postponing the SCAW IACUC Training Workshop-NIH-May 18, 2020.  With the uncertainty of when things "will be back to normal" we do not want risk to any person/s in light of this pandemic.


SCAW General registration fee is $399.00

SCAW Institutional Members registration fee is $325.00

This Training workshop is on  May 18, 2020   and will be held at NIH-Natcher Conference Center, Auditorium, Lower Level, 45 Center Dr, Bethesda, MD 20894 

All NIH visitors must go through a security clearance at the NIH Gateway Center to receive a visitor’s badge. Visitors may be required to pass through a metal detector and have bags/purses inspected or x-rayed. All visitors must present a government-issued photo ID to enter the campus.

NOTE: ALLOW at least 45 mins to get thru security. There are multiple meeting the same days and we have an 8AM start. Security opens at 6:00 AM. The Natcher Center opens at 7:00AM

There will be no refund of the registration fee.

 SCAW has developed a Student Scholarship Fund.  If you are a full time student and would like to attend any one of SCAW’s Workshops or Conferences please contact SCAW at or tel: 301.345.3500 on how to apply for the SCAW/CITI Student Scholarship to have your registration fee waived.

 It is expected that this course will be approved for hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval; however participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continued education. This workshop will help meet the requirement stated in the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals 8th edition, 2011 that states “All personnel involved with the care and use of animals must be adequately educated, trained, and/or qualified in basic principles of laboratory animal science to help ensure high quality science and animal well-being”. It will also address USDA/APHIS/AC Policy 15 and government standards.
